would like to plant a better veggie garden this year as a project to do with the kids, and as a way to have fresh veggies through the summer. Last year I only utilized 1/2 of my garden space and this year I would love to use the entire plot. I know some of you (like TMBMT) have grown veggies. So any suggestions for veggies that are hardy and will grow easy? What should be planted next to what? Should I be pregrowing seeds in small containers now for transplant in a couple months???? (I usually just buy the grown plant from the store - but if I can go from seeds that would be great) Last year i had eggplant, 2 varieties of tomato, sting beans, gazillion cucumbers that took over as I planted them in the middle of the garden-forgot they are climbers) and three varieties of peppers.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

need help locating someone

Anyone out there know how to contact a member of the military (the proper way?)

I have a long lost friend from about 10 years ago. The last time I knew of this person, they were stationed at an Army Reserve base. I am 99% certain that this person is still working there on the base. I am not sure how to contact this person. Could I contact the base? Are they allowed to give out information if a person works there. Does the Department of Defence have a policy to keep their members private? I'd like to contact this person, but was not sure if contacting the base directly would be allowed. And, if I did, what information should I give? Should I say I am just a friend? Would I be able to leave my information to have this person call me back?

If anyone out there knows what policy is in place and any suggestions on how to locate such person's serving...please pass on the info to me here (not email).

I am online tonight and maybe in the morning then thats it.. too much to do to get ready for the trip and spend as much time as I can with my son!! We leave soon and my son will be staying with my mom while we are gone. My BF's brother has so kindly offered to house sit so my kitties wont be lonesome but I still have to board one of the dogs as that is a bit much for him (he is not overly fond of dogs). I am so excited but so scared too and so worried.. it will be the first time I leave my son for more then an overnight!!:w00t: See you all when we get back...... no one posh anything really good..OK... LOL just kidding!! Hope everyone had a nice mothers day and you all have a great next few weeks!! I may pop in in the morning after my son's bus comes but I have to clean and pack still!!

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, step moms, future moms, and those who have been like a mom! Tomorrow I am spending the day with my mom to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow too, and Mother's Day with her. My mom is my best friend. She has been through so much with cancer etc., and she always tells me I am her blessing from God.

When she went to the hospital to have me the day before Mother's Day - she was told the week before that there was no longer a heart beat and her baby was no longer living as a result of a physical confrontation with my real dad - SO after the scheduled surgery she asked my grandfather whether the baby had been a boy or girl, and my grandfather told her that she IS A VERY HEALTHY BABY GIRL!!!!!! The nurses bought my mom a beautiful corsage to wear that day - she always says she knew then that God had sent her an angel that day (little does she know me LOL). So we always celebrate these two special days together!

Anyway, my story - Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!

I just got some awful news.

Mom has had a bunch of back pain for about a month or so and had tests done to see what was going on.

They found spots on both her lungs so scheduled a biopsy for 11am today.

She got into a room at about 1pm or so and was waiting for the doctor to give her the results.

She called me about 2pm and could hardly talk so Daddy got on the phone and told me that she has her cancer back and it is in her lung (1 or both - I was so stunned that I'm not sure), her spine and her hip.

She will get chemo, but it doesn't look good.
